The partnership between MPOWER Ventures and MPOWER Labs is as innovative as the portfolio companies and products that we accelerate and incubate. By combing shared infrastructure, a highly-specialized team of proven entrepreneurs, and an advanced research and development product laboratory, we are able to identify, develop, and launch products at incredible speed.
We have developed a unique, two-part approach to delivering solutions for the underserved. First, in our role as business accelerator, we enable the portfolio companies of MPOWER Ventures to quickly and cost-effectively scale from early-stage prototypes to market-ready products. We also work closely with the founding entrepreneurs to build business capacity and infrastructure, advising them in the creation of systems and process, teams, partnerships, and corporate identity. Second, in our role as research and development incubator, we identify market failures affecting the underserved, and we proactively lead the development of products and services to address those problems. In many cases, those products may lead to the creation of a new company that will become a part of MPOWER Ventures’ portfolio.
Business Accelerator
MPOWER Labs is an accelerator for the products and services of the portfolio companies of MPOWER Ventures. In this role, MPOWER Labs’ primary responsibilities are: 1) to assist portfolio companies in the development of products that will add significant value to the companies; 2) to enable the portfolio companies to rapidly deploy products to market; and 3) to build human resource and technical infrastructure within the companies so that they may operate increasingly independently and so that they may quickly scale.
Research and Development Incubator
MPOWER Labs also acts as an innovator and incubator of new programs or products to empower the underserved. In this role, MPOWER Labs’ primary responsibilities are: 1) to identify areas of product innovation that serve our target audience and leverage our existing assets; 2) to develop products in-house; and 3) to deploy pilot programs for new products as needed.
