Gratio Values Fund Tops Wall Street Journal Quarterly Performance Ranking
Ranks First Among Small-Cap Core Equity Funds
NEW YORK, July 24, 2009 - The Gratio Values Fund (GRVLX) managed by Gratio Capital is the top-performing small-cap core equity mutual fund, according to the Wall Street Journal’s recently published rankings.
Gratio Capital is a New York City-based asset management company. In addition to managing the Gratio Values Fund, the company is creating asset-building products for underserved consumers. It plans to introduce its first products this year.
“We credit the fund’s performance to date to our value investing approach, choosing solid businesses with strong long-term prospects that have been mispriced by the market,” said Gratio Capital co-founder Rimmy Malhotra, who oversees all investment decisions for the Gratio Values Fund.
The Gratio Values Fund ranked first out of 768 small-cap core equity funds based on total return and was the only fund to deliver positive returns for the one-year period ended June 30, 2009.
Malhotra added, “The last 12 months represent one of the most difficult environments investors have seen in recent times, and we are thrilled that our strategy not only had a strong relative performance but also strong and positive absolute returns over the period.”
The Gratio Values Fund accepts direct subscriptions and is offered through a number of popular fund platforms including E-Trade, TD Ameritrade, Scottrade, First Southwest and select brokers or online providers.
