System Administrator

Job Description

This position is focused on the configuration, support, and documentation of UNIX (CentOS/Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris) and Windows servers. The position is full time and requires availability for after hours support and monitoring. Applicants should have detailed knowledge of UNIX administration. The ability to effectively communicate in Spanish is highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining mission critical transaction processing platform
  • Server setup and management (Linux, Solaris, Windows 2003/2008)
  • System backup management
  • Configuration and management of monitoring platform
  • Creating and maintaining platform documentation
  • DNS/NTP/SMTP relay management
  • Participate in change management process
  • Rotating on call support
  • Participate in after hours software deployments
  • Assisting with compliance auditing

Core Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of UNIX administration, Windows administration, and IP networking
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to participate in on-call rotation

Desirable Qualifications

  • Financial services exposure (particularly PCI-DSS)
  • Familiarity with HP Atalla NSP series
  • Networking (Cisco routing/switching/voice)
  • VMWare ESX/ESXi
  • Database Administration
  • Oracle
  • MS SQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL
  • Spanish language skills
  • Storage Management (SAN/NAS)
  • RHCE, Microsoft
