Sr. Risk Manager

Job Description

The Sr. Risk Manager will develop and enforce risk policies and procedures on various products, regions and services offered by Rev Worldwide financial services initiatives and affiliate companies. This role will be key in creating systems to monitor for anomalous usage of the prepaid debit account, which may include escalating the situation to the proper entities and blocking the account as necessary to minimize exposure. The Sr. Risk Manager will have direct contact with internal and external customers in the investigation process. This role will be extremely proactive in identifying gaps and in providing solutions. The Sr. Risk Manager will demonstrate a willingness to take on new challenges, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment and professionalism under stressful situations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve comprehensive fraud policies, strategies, and decision rules that balance profitability, transaction processing costs, compliance requirements, and customer experience.
  • Create and maintain metrics for measuring effectiveness of the strategies and processes. Communicate results to senior management, and internal business partners.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the business teams, product management, IT, Legal/Compliance, and other support functions.
  • Work with internal partners and external vendors to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end risk management process.
  • Make recommendations on how to enhance profitability and improve processes through creative risk management solutions.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Establish quality control processes and metrics on risk management policies and procedures.
  • Be ready to fully engage in daily operations, investigations, and escalations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Decision Sciences, or similar area.
  • 5+ years in financial services, risk management, or banking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Other) a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and other quantitative tools.
  • Experience with programming or report writing languages (SAS, SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, etc.) a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Drive change and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals and teams.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with internal and external customers.
  • Team player.
  • Strong analytic, statistical, research and problem solving skills.
  • Project and/or Team management experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial networks and regulation preferred.
